Meet Alison: Associate Child Specialist & Emotional Regulation Practitioner

Associate Neurodiversity Coach and Trainer

Hello, I’m Alison - an independent coach and trainer who collaborates with Flourish with Neurodiversity. Dual-diagnosed Autistic and ADHD woman, a proud mum to two incredible neurodivergent daughters, and a passionate coach, trainer, and advocate for children and families navigating the world of neurodiversity. My own diagnoses of Autism, Combined ADHD Type, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD), and OCD came later in life, but my journey began with my daughters’ autism diagnoses in 2016. Through them, I began to understand myself more deeply and finally unmask challenges I had hidden for decades.

My Mission

I offer coaching and tailored support sessions for children aged 6+ years - 18 years old that are compassionate, informed, and rooted in lived experience. My goal is to empower families, professionals, and organisations to better understand and support neurodivergent individuals in a world that’s not always designed with us in mind.

A Family-Centred Perspective

Parenting two daughters with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Tic Disorder, Dyspraxia, and SPD has given me first-hand insight into the challenges families face every day.

From the EHCP process to negotiating with schools and healthcare services, I know how overwhelming it can feel. My personal and professional experience allows me to support families with empathy, practical strategies, and hope.

Unmasking My Own Story

Like many neurodivergent adults, I spent over thirty years masking, working hard to “fit in” while never fully understanding why life felt harder than it should.

It wasn’t until my daughters’ diagnoses that I started recognising these patterns in myself. Receiving my own diagnoses was life-changing, helping me embrace who I am and giving me a new sense of clarity and compassion.

How I Support Families

1:1 Coaching Sessions - For children aged 6–18, tailored to their unique needs.
Sensory Screening & Profiles - To help you identify your sensory differences, triggers and find daily strategies that work for your child.
EHCP Rewriting & Editing Support - To strengthen educational provision.

Screening Assessments - For Autism and ADHD (non-diagnostic, but helpful for referrals and evidence).

I also provide consultancy for schools and early years settings, advice on workplace adjustments, and emotional regulation coaching for both children and adults.
